TRACIT-300 is a hardening heat transfer cement designed for industrial heat tracing systems operating up to 750°F (400°C).
It is recommended for steam, electric, hot oil, and glycol tracing installations used for freeze protection and process temperature maintenance. When cured, TRACIT-300 forms a rigid, highly conductive bond between the tracer and the process surface, improving heat transfer efficiency and stabilizing pipe temperatures. In many applications, a single heat trace line installed with TRACIT-300 can deliver performance comparable to multiple bare tracers.
TRACIT-300 is also suitable for use inside heating jackets and in plate-type coil applications exceeding the temperature limits of non-hardening mastics.
Maximum service temperature: 750°F (400°C)
Minimum service temperature: -320°F (-196°C)
Minimum installation temperature: 32°F (0°C)
Heat transfer coefficient, Ut, heat source (tracer) to pipe wall: 20-40 Btu/hr•°F•ft2 (114-227 w/m2•°C)
Bonding strength: 200-275 lbs/in2
Water-soluble: Yes
Nominal electrical resistivity: 0.365 ohms-inch (0.927 ohms-cm)
Shelf life: 1.5 years in unopened can. Keep lid sealed tightly when not in use. Store at room temperature. Tracit-300 is serviceable as long as it is moist and adheres to contact surface.
Container sizes: 5-gallon can, 1-gallon can, quart can, pint can, 10 or 32 oz. caulk cartridge, 55-
gallon drums.
TRACIT-300WW should be requested when lower viscosity is required.
TRACIT-600A is recommended for process temperatures exceeding 750°F.
No curing is required when installing with Chemax CC Channels or in certain plate-type coil applications.
