TRACIT-1000

Tracit Heat Transfer Mastic

Non-Hardening Heat Transfer Cement for Cooling Applications

TRACIT-1000 is a non-hardening heat transfer cement formulated specifically for externally cooled tanks and vessels utilizing clamp-on (plate-type) coils.

Applied between the cooling coil and vessel wall prior to installation, TRACIT-1000 eliminates air gaps and creates a conductive thermal interface that improves heat removal efficiency. Because TRACIT-1000 remains pliable, it maintains continuous surface contact during thermal expansion and contraction cycles. The compound is water-resistant, non-curing, and easily removable for maintenance or system modifications.

TRACIT-1000 is recommended for cooling service applications up to 300°F (150°C). For heating service, use TRACIT-1100.

Technical Specifications

Maximum service temperature: 300°F (150°C)

Minimum service temperature: -116°F (-80°C)

Minimum application temperature: 5°F (15°C)

Heat transfer coefficient, Ut, heat source to vessel wall: 20-40 Btu/hr•°F•ft2 (114-227 w/m2•°C)

Water-soluble: No

Curing: None required.

Shelf life: Indefinite. Keep container lid sealed tightly when not in use.

Coverage rates: 12 ft.²/gallon (1/8" thick), 6 ft.² /gallon (1/4" thick)

Container sizes: Caulk gun cartridges (10 or 32 oz), 5-gallon pail, 1-gallon pail, quart and pint cans. Also available in 55-gallon drums for pumping applications.

Installation Instructions

  •  No premixing or curing required.

  • Apply a uniform 1/8"–1/4" layer using a hand trowel to mechanically mounted surfaces such as clamp-on coils.

  • Ensure full surface contact to eliminate air gaps.

  • In cold environments, product may be warmed (up to 80°F) to reduce viscosity and improve workability.

  • Remove excessive dirt, rust, or loose coatings prior to installation for optimal performance.

Removal

  • Do not expose to open flame or strong oxidizing agents.

  • If removal is required, scrape off with hand tools and use an industrial degreasing agent as needed.

Wear protective gloves and eye protection during handling.
